Major snowstorm rocks Mid Atlantic states

We’re on the eve of what currently looks to be one of the most signifigant snowfall events of the year for many. Tonight we’re already seeing heavy across the southern US changing to snow in the smoky mountains of North Carolina. Through the night tonight and into tomorrow we’ll be see the heavy rain translating into very heavy snowfall coming down at an inch or more an hour. The GFS and NAM are battling on whether or not the snowfall makes into New England or not but I think it’s a good chance that the south coast of New England also sees at least a few inches of fluff on Saturday. Refer to the accumulation map for snowfall in your town or region. If you live in New England and would like updates on this system than check in with my website that specializes in New England weather. The New England Weather Life

Severe and widespread US storm looms!
We’re already seeing as of Wednesday afternoon, healthy storm development over Arizona. This low pressure center has got a strong cyclonic nature , this will serve it well because when a chunk of precipitation comes out of Mexico the merger in Texas of these two system should create a severe winter storm. Once these 2 systems form a bond maturely , which should be around Midland Texas, the northern flank of the system will meet cold air and a signifigant snow and ice event should begin from Lubbock to OK city. For many, sleet and ice will be the danger but further north, areas that run into the air well below freezing will see snow. As the storm continues east more snow and ice will spread through states like Kentucky and southern MO. As the storm continues east , we’ll have to keep an eye out for storm development along the east coast …. This could mean heavy snow for New England. We’ll see …..
What’s really interesting, is how this compares to a relatively similar storm that occurred around this time last year. Check out the comparison :
History repeats itself huh?
We’ll have to see how this pans out. I’ll stay with you every step of the way of course!
